Multiple Clients Awarded for Sustainability

Two of Carbon Architectures NHS clients have received awards for sustainability reporting from NHS England.

NHS England, HFMA and the NHS Sustainability Development Unit teamed up to award 40 Trusts nationwide for excellent sustainability reporting with two of Carbon Architecture’s clients receiving awards. Further information on the awards can be found on the SDU website.

The SDU looked for open and comprehensive reporting on sustainable development including:

  • Demonstrating reduction of expensive natural resources, such as natural gas
  • Minimising our environmental impacts, such as vehicle air pollution
  • Maximising our positive impact in our community, for example creating local jobs.

Petros Antoniou, Dartford & Gravesham Sustainability lead said:

I am delighted that Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust has been recognised for having excellent sustainability reporting in 2015-16 by NHS Improvement, the Health Finance Managers Association (HFMA) and the Sustainable Development Unit (SDU) for NHS England and Public Health England. I would like to give a big thank you to our sustainability group members, the green champions, Low Carbon Europe Ltd, Carbon Architecture Ltd and Carillion for their help and support with sustainability at DVH.

Croydon University Hospital also received an award with one of the top report scores nationwide and the report being cited as an example of best practice.

This year Carbon Architecture are helping several additional Trusts with sustainability reporting. For more information or for assistance in sustainability reporting
